 | The NITCS thanks all the members who renewed their membership for 2007-2008! The NITCS and its members have a lot of work ahead but with your loyalty and support, the NITCS will be able to obtain their goals. Last year had its bumps in the road but we are all working hard to make our members happy and proud to call themselves members of the Northern IL Tejano Cultural Society and Tejano.  | NITCS' Valentine's Day Dance | ||||||||||||
| NITCS held our Annual Valentine's Day Dance at the Sugar Grove Police Lodge. We had a wonderful time enjoying the music, food, and the company of our NITCS friends and family. We would like to thank everyone who came by to make this event a successful one. A special thank you goes out to Raul Barbosa for helping put the entertainment together and to all the volunteers. Thank you to the Sugar Grove Police Lodge for allowing us to hold this event at your location. A special thank you to all the DJ's - Armando E., Thunder n Lightning, Big Daddy Tejano, and Vito of TEXMEX FM. Thanks to all the members and nonmembers for supporting and a big thank you to Frank Hernandez - Puro Tejano Productions for his assistance. | |||||||||||||
| NITCS' Spring/Easter Dance | ||||||||||||
Mark your calendar the NITCS has a spring/Easter dance scheduled for March 22, 2008. The NITCS has returned to the Sugar Grove Police Lodge 42 W 635 Ke-de-ka Road, Sugar Grove Illinois 60554 - Intersection of Route 47 and Bliss Road (1/4 mile from this intersection on the North/East Side of the Route 47). Doors open at 6pm through 12am - After-set party is to be held at the Latin American Club. Admission is only $10.00 for members and $15.00 for non-members. Memberships will be available. T-shirt will be sold, CD's will be sold and Raffle tickets for this Year's 5th Annual Tejano Convention in Dallas, Texas - Aug 15-Aug 17, 2008 will be sold. Winner of the raffle will get two tickets for registration for the weekend for the convention, Hotel accommodations for the weekend, and two round trip tickets to Dallas, Texas, and 5th Anniversary Gift Package. Raffle ticket is only $10.00 and go on sale this weekend. Come and enjoy some food, and music provided by Puro Tejano Production's Thunder n Lightning. This event will be B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Beverage/Booze). Carne Guisada, Rice, Beans and beverages will be sold and provided by Martha and Jr. Gonzalez. | |||||||||||||
| Tejano Tuesday | |||||||||||||
 | For the month of March, Tejano Tuesday will be at "Goody's " located at 1566 Farnsworth Ave. in Aurora, Illinois 630-585-7450. So, come and join us on March 25, 2008 from 5pm - 9pm and help support the NITCS. Goody's will give the NITCS 20% back of the receipt totals for that day. So, please come and support - Bring the family and friends. | ||||||||||||

 | It is Tejano Time - July 18 - 19, 2008, the Northern Illinois Tejano Cultural Society proudly presents the 4th Annual Tejano Festival. The event is schedule on Friday, July 18, 2008 from 6pm - 12am and Saturday, July 19, 2008, from 2pm - 12am. This year's line up is as follows: Cha-Cha Jimenez, Jessy Serrata, Tex-Mex Maniacs, Grupo Sensacion, Zueno Tejano, and Grupo Plazer. Mark those dates in your calendar. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event should contact Joel at 630-788-4181. The location of the event will be given later. What a show - so get ready to come to the only All Tejano Festival.  | Don't forget to send in your membership applications and spread the news to non-members of our organization. People can sign up by filling out a paper membership by asking any board member and/or member or the application can be filled out via internet at www.NITCS.org. We need your help to make NITCS successful and to help keep our Tejano Culture alive. Members can receive anywhere from a $5.00-$10.00 discount on events we hold throughout 2008. | ||||||||||||
2008 | **The Northern Illinois Tejano Cultural Society is asking for people to ask their employers if they donate/sponsor non-profit organizations? We have sponsorship package available for anyone that can assist the NITCS and it's scholarship drive. This year a full one-year scholarship is being given any way for anyone attending a State University. Please contact the NITCS for the Package. This is due by April 15, 2008. | ||||||||||||
