23rd TTMA Awards
Members,
This year's 23rd TTMA Awards were very memorable. The event itself and all
the events that lead into the Award's night will not go forgotten. Many of
the winners were in attendance but some were not - As the Tejano crowd would
indicate with their many "Boos". I guess Jay Perez put everything
in prospective when accepting Male Vocalist of the Year by saying that there
should be no reason why all the winners were not in attendance. Jay was going
to make personal calls to indicate his frustrations with all the Tejano Super
Stars. I am sure that everyone has their reasons why they could not be in
attendance but the fans don't want to hear any of that. The fans pay good
money in attend the TTMA Awards and many, as the NITCS, spend much much more
money on Hotels, Airfares, Rental Cars, Food, Beverages, and Souvenirs. We
saw people from Washington, Arizona, California, Florida, Missouri, Michigan,
New York and Illinois. The disappointment was not the events themselves or
the Tejano entertainers but those not in attendance. These same Tejano Superstars
would never be who they are without the Tejano Fans - I am sure that they
have their views but they have to accept that we have the right to be upset.
Regardless, the awards were awesome - The performance were off the hook -
The after Parties lasted all night long. If you were not able to attend, here
are some pictures and videos to show you want you missed - Maybe next year.
We will be there again next year. We love you Tejano Super Stars - Don't ever
forget it!!!
